We have been going to this outlet for the past 10 years. Having visited many restaurants on the planet, this outlet has remained consistent in terms of authenticity of food & quantity served. The only thing which has slipped is the portion of chicken in the curry. Hotels should learn the art of serving consistently good food….all of the time.

Decent chicken rice, obviously not the best but not bad either. The pie tie was surprisingly tasty even though it didn't look like much. Service needs improving, the order wasn't 100% right and they forgot certain drinks and sauces.

I passed by this place many times, and I was curious about the food. The place looked OK, but I wasn't sure of what to ask for. The lady at the entrance told me to try yhe barbecue chicken with rice, which I think it's the staple food here (hence the name), and I was pleased with the food and the drinks quality. They pat attention to small details, like the cutlery in the chicken shaped basket, and that I really liked. The only problem is the soup... I did not try it, but it didn't add to the experience. The price? 19 RM (less than $5). Not bad.

Workers are trained to ignore customers especially by foreign workers to local customers. They may prioritize foreign customers than local customers. U may need to order at the counter because of the ignorance. Consistent with previous reviews of ignorance by previous customers. Owner should consider to ask his/her spies to prove it wrong. Do improve it in order to sustain your business. Not surprising if customers hate Chicken Rice brand in future just because of bad services in certain centres

The Chicken Rice Shop serves the best and consistent standard of chicken rice in flavor, tastiness and tender chicken all year round. We loved their Honey Roasted Chicken and Char Siew. This time we ordered their set for three... we selected Honey Roasted Chicken, Steamed Chicken, Fish Balls, Okra, Pie Tee, Kerabu Mangoes and Rice. It was as expected, the soup and rice were steaming hot and delicious. Never fail to fill our stomach when we desire a good chicken rice. Good for children, family and friends.

Of all the TCRS outlets in Penang, to me TCRS Gurney Plaza outlet serve the best. The roasted chicken is tender and well cooked. Gado-gado portion is nice, vegetables are fresh and the gravy is so tasty. Assam fish also tasty. Chicken rice also fluffy. Worth the money. The staff also friendly.

I mostly go for their Hainanese curry 🐔. They're roasted 🐔 & other flavours are not to my liking. A good place for a simple filling meal.

We've been here for several times, and the foods quality are above average than other TCRS branches. + Friendly service + Fast servings + Consistent quality + Nice environment - Sometime here may be crowded, and probably you may need to wait for a while Recommendations: 3 layers ice tea, fried crispy wan tan, grilled crispy chicken
